St. Nicholas Square along with a Social Purpose Building, Kraljevica
Autori: Siniša Justić, Luka Korlaet
A need for reconstruction of the dilapidated underpinning wall has created the possibility of urban refurbishement, so a multi-purpose facility which roof is a public pedestrian area,
‘a city balcony’ was formed. Stairs, ramps and an elevator inside the building establish a better connection between the two elevations and ensure the movement of persons with reduced mobility thus substantially completing the city center. By the willingness of the partners in the design process, we tried to erase a sharp boundary between urbanism and architecture and built a mimicked urban ‘device’ as it has always existed there.
