Mathematics for Architecture and Design Students

The university textbook Mathematics for Architecture and Design Students is intended for students of the Architecture and Urban Planning program and the Design program, to support their learning and completion of the Mathematics, Mathematics 1, and Mathematics 2 courses at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Architecture. The content is divided into six chapters: Vectors, Analytical Geometry, Elementary Functions, Limits, Derivatives, and Integrals. The second chapter includes an appendix titled Connecting Analytical and Descriptive Geometry, where certain problems are solved using methods of descriptive geometry. Thus, standard topics taught in technical faculties are covered but are adjusted to the timetable at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Architecture, with a greater emphasis on application and visualization rather than formal mathematical terminology and proofs. Each chapter begins with a motivation section, followed by a brief theoretical introduction, solved examples, and exercises. The text is accompanied by over 100 images created with the digital tool GeoGebra.
