In his publication Renovation of a Traditional Dalmatian House, the
author Željko Pavlović interprets the on-going topical issue of optimization
and transfer of knowledge and skills acquired over many years
into the world of real, factual and tangible moments. Systematicity
and attention to detail reveal sensitivity and instinct of a Teacher, who
has written his manual with a desire to address the universal principles,
easily transferrable knowledge and analytically painted truths.
Unpretentious and exact, without the intention of selectively correcting
complex ideas acquired during the whole process, the author
presents the face and reverse side of the architectural process. He
elaborates and explains the program and concept of renovation showing
his intention and inclination towards modern and experimental
architectural and technological details. The epilogue of a successful
synthesis between tradition and modernity through the language of
architecture is here accompanied by a rich collection of photographs.
The attached edition is part of the exhibition of the same name held in
March 2020 at the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb.
