Methods of projections, rules of transformation, orthogonal projections. Solving 3D problems and their relations depicted in a plane using classical techniques or supported by CAD software. Application of axonometric methods for representing 3D objects with special view to the architectural dome and vaults. Project assignments on thesis of orthogonal projections on two planes and axonometry.
To solve geometrical
problems descriptive geometry uses pictures for representing spatial objects and making 3D models virtual or physically realistic. The methodology of the course leads a student to develop skills of creative solution of 3D problems and spatial visualization as a sort of human intelligence necessary for architectural planning.
The students will be able to represent 3D models in 2D representation and vice versa by method of orthogonal projections and axonometric methods. They can apply the knowledge of these methods in the courses of Architectural Design and Computer Aided Architectural Design.
